Royal Aeronautical Society

Industry: Aerospace

Type of work: Branding, Environmental Design, Editorial Design

Creative team: Cai & Kyn Taylor

Established in 1866 the Royal Aeronautical Society is the world’s only professional body dedicated to the aerospace community, it exists to further the advancement of aeronautical art, science and engineering around the world.

In 2010, partnering with Sunday, we commenced on a complete rebrand for them. They wanted to refresh the logo making it relevant to the aeronautical industry today and in to the future, and to ensure that it worked across all different platforms and medias, paying particular attention to the kestrel, for which they had a number of complaints from their ‘eagle-eyed’ members as it wasn’t anatomically correct.

They had also recognised a slow down in growth of new members over some years and there was concern internally and from board members that they were looking dated and out of touch with the next generation of aeronautical experts.

We were tasked with refreshing all of the membership materials and all of the conference and events marketing pieces, making them appeal to a wider audience and to revitalise the perception of the society.
